IPL 2021 Auction to take place in Chennai on 18th February

The auction for the released and eligible players for the IPL 2021 season shall take place in Chennai on 18th February. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, IPL 2020 was delayed which further impacted the scale and the timing of the auction for the 2021 season. Now it is set to take place on 18th February.

The 2021 IPL auction was originally set to be a mega-auction with the teams set to release a major chunk of their players. However, with the coronavirus halting all kind of cricket, the event has now been delayed. This year’s auction will not be a prolonged one. The teams will still have an opportunity to iron out the chinks in their armours to be set for a competitive 2021 IPL season.
