IPL unveils world’s largest jersey to mark entry in Guinness book of world records

World’s largest jersey was unveiled ahead of the high-voltage Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 final between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. With the gala tournament coming to an end, the officials arranged a closing ceremony at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The unveiling of the colossal jersey was also a part of the closing ceremony.

The jersey has logos of all 10 teams etched in it alongside the text “15 years of IPL.” Coming to the dimensions, the jersey is 66 meters long alongside being 42 meters wide. The snap of the jersey went viral in no time with IPL fans celebrating the new entry in the Guinness book of world records.

Ranveer Singh set the stage on fire

Meanwhile, the closing ceremony started with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh setting the stage on fire. Fans present in the stadium were highly entertained as the Padmavat star left no stones unturned in his performance. It must be noted that owing to the closing ceremony, the start of the final match was delayed. Hence, instead of 7:30 PM, the action will get underway at 8:00 PM.

Coming to the summit clash, Gujarat Titans have been phenomenal in their debut IPL season. Hardik Pandya has marshaled his troop with perfection as the side recorded one emphatic win after another. In fact, GT were the first team to qualify for playoffs this season. They even finished the league stage atop the team standings, having won 10 of their 14 games.

They also went on to defeat Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 1 to secure a place in the summit clash. As far as Rajasthan Royals are concerned, they are making their first final appearance since their victorious campaign in 2008.

Hence, the Sanju Samson-led side would be raring to get the glory this time around. As mentioned above, RR lost to GT in the first Qualifier but made a terrific comeback, thrashing Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets in Qualifier 2. Hence, it would be interesting to see how the summit clash pans out.
