Most dismissals for batter-bowler pairs in Ashes

David Warner was dismissed for the 15th time against Stuart Broad in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham. While getting dismissed can be pressurizing, getting dismissed to one particular bowler consistently can frustrate a batter. On that note, we take a look at the top three batter-bowler pairs that have the most dismissals in the Ashes-

3. Hugh Trumble vs Tom Hayward, David Warner vs Stuart Broad | 15 times

Hugh Trumble made life difficult on the crease for Tom Hayward on numerous occasions during the clash as the former got him out a record 15 times in 22 matches. Likewise, Warner has often struggled to get the runs while being up against seasoned pacer Broad. In 27 meetings, Broad has removed Warner 15 times which includes four ducks, at an average of 18.93.

2. Alec Bedser vs Arthur Morris| 18 dismissals

Alec Bedser, the tall English pace bowler, represented his side in 51 Tests between 1946-1955. During the matches against Australia, Bedser got the better of Arthur Morris on 18 occasions in 21 matches. Morris holds the unceremonious record of the batter with the second-most dismissals by the same bowler in the history of the Ashes.

1. Glenn McGrath vs Mike Atherton | 19 dismissals

Arguably one of the greatest pacers of all-time, Glenn McGrath was known to trouble batters during his stint with the national team but he troubled no one more than Michael Atherton. The England batter was dismissed a record 19 times in Test cricket to McGrath, which makes him top the list in this unceremonious chart. In 17 matches, McGrath not only got Atherton 19 times but he did not let him even get off the mark on three occasions. The English batter could only manage to average 9.89 against the fierce Aussie pacer.
