The Board of Control for Cricket in India has unveiled the 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, set to be hosted across India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side as captain, with Smriti Mandhana named vice-captain, reflecting a balanced blend of experience and leadership depth.

The selection features a robust core of seasoned campaigners, including Harmanpreet and Mandhana, alongside key contributors such as Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Harleen Deol. The squad is rounded out with rising talents like Pratika Rawal and Arundhati Reddy, bringing fresh energy and versatility to both batting and bowling departments.

Notably left out of the squad is explosive opener Shafali Verma, a decision that highlights the selectors’ focus on current form and combination stability. In her place, Renuka Singh Thakur anchors a formidable pace attack, supported by all-rounders like Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav, and wicketkeeping options including Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia, an indication of strategic depth in key roles.
