IPL 2020: DC vs KXIP Preview – The dark horses collide
Last year’s semi-finalists Delhi Capitals will take on the Kings XI Punjab in the second match of the IPL. Both teams have earned the tag of “underachievers”, having punched below their weight regularly. Delhi Capitals reached the semi-finals last year after 7 years, while Kings XI last played a final in the year 2014.
Kings XI Punjab boast of a good record in the UAE, winning all 5 of their games that were played back in 2014. Meanwhile, Delhi won only 2 out of the 5 games they last played there. The last time DC and KXIP met, Delhi defeated Punjab by 5 wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Team News:
Delhi Capitals:
DC shall miss the services of explosive English opener Jason Roy, who pulled out of this year’s IPL. Marcus Stoinis and Alex Carey reached UAE and shall be available to play post the 36-hour quarantine period. Head coach Ricky Ponting has talked about using Marcus Stoinis as a “floater” rather than giving him the defined role of a finisher.
Kings XI Punjab
Glenn Maxwell and Chris Jordan shall be available to play post their 36-hour quarantine period, after returning from the Australia-England series in the UK. The availability of an in-form Maxwell, who is coming from the back of winning a Man of the Series award in the Aus vs Eng ODI series, shall be a huge boost of morale for the Kings. There is still debate about whether Nicolas Pooran would start in the playing XI with Maxwell’s availability.
