IPL 2021: Hasaranga and Chameera to remain unavailable for playoff matches
Sri Lanka players Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera were roped in by RCB ahead of the UAE leg of IPL 2021 as replacements of Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams. In the latest turn of events, it has been announced that SLC has granted permission to both players to be part of the Indian T20 league in September.
SLC gave permission to players after consulting the Technical Advisory Committee. The ‘No Objection Certificate’ has been given to both of them after which Hasaranga and Chameera would be joining the team by 15th September. However, as per later reports, it has been announced that both of them would not be available for the playoffs of IPL 2021 in case RCB qualifies.
As per the reports by Cricwire, both SL players will join the SL squad on 10th October 2021 to play warm-up games on the roadway to ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers kicking off on October 17. Sri Lanka will be playing Qualifier against Namibia on October 18 to further progress their journey into the showpiece event.
Hasaranga was roped in by RCB on the back of his outstanding performance against Indian in the T20I series which was held in July. Chameera also impressed the franchise selectors with his disciplined sense of bowling.
