The game against KKR is not going to be a cakewalk for us: Rohit Sharma

The 34th match of the IPL 2021 is all set to take place between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. After beginning the UAE leg on a losing note against CSK, skipper Sharma believes that even their next fixture is also not going to be a ‘cakewalk’. It has to be noted that KKR won their opening fixture quite comfortably and will be in a good tone and confidence to take the next challenge.

Rohit believes the same and added that it is just not going to be easy for them. Star Mumbai batter who missed the last IPL game due to some fitness issues, looks confident and determined to take his team over the line in their next fixture against Eoin Morgan and his men. Two star players of Mumbai, Sharma, and ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya missed MI’s opening clash against CSK.

“KKR is a good opposition. They play cricket really well as a team. They will obviously be coming off with some confidence after their last win. So, it’s not going to be a cakewalk for us,” said MI skipper Rohit Sharma in a video posted by MI on Instagram ahead of the KKR game.

I honestly don’t believe in past records in T20: Rohit Sharma

The batter also threw light on how they share a great record against KKR in IPL history but T20 matches are all about how the team performs on that particular day. He made it clear that he doesn’t believe much in past records and numbers as anything can happen on that particular day. However, it remains to be seen how MI will turn up against KKR on September 23 in Abi Dhabi and how Sharma will perform in particular.

“I honestly don’t believe in past records because, in T20, it depends on that particular day what happens. You have to be the best on that day. I know we’ve had a very handy record against them but it’s important that we turn up really well on that particular day and do the job,” added Sharma.
