IPL 2021: Shah Rukh Khan heaps praise on the KKR side for notching up their 100th IPL win
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opened their 2021 IPL campaign on a winning note. The Eoin Morgan-led outfit beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side by 10 runs in the 3rd match of the 14th edition of the IPL. Led by a scintillating 56-ball 80 from Nitish Rana, the Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 187/6 on the board.
In reply, even though the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey scored half-centuries, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side fell short of the target. On the bowling front, Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers for the Kolkata side.
Even though he gave away 35 runs in the 4 overs that he bowled, Krishna scalped 2 wickets, including that of the dangerous David Warner. And with this win, the Kolkata side has posted their 100th win in the IPL.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side is one of the most successful sides in IPL history. They have won the IPL title 2 times, in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The ‘Men in Purple and Gold’ have also reached the Playoffs stage in 6 out of the 13 IPL editions thus far.
In the 2020 edition of the IPL that was held in the UAE, the Kolkata side could not qualify for the playoffs stage. Even though they won 7 out of the 14 matches last year, the two-time IPL champions could only finish in 5th place last year.
Kolkata will play their second match of the 14th IPL edition against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on 13th April 2021 in Chennai.
