Sachin to debut in the World Cup – as a commentator

12th edition of cricket’s most important event begins at the Oval today. Hosts England will be facing the challenge of South Africa in the tournament opener. While there are plenty of players waiting for their debut in the World Cup, there will be one more debut which will keep cricket fans on their toes. The greatest run-accumulator in cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, will be making his first appearance as an on-air expert.

Sachin will be present in the commentary box during the inaugural match of the 2019 World Cup between England and South Africa taking place at The Oval, London. The Master Blaster shall be joining the Philips Hue Cricket Live pre-show in Hindi and English at 1.30 p.m. with his very own segment ‘Sachin Opens Again’ at the Star Sports network. He will be accompanied by a panel of experts.

Representing India in six World Cups, Sachin jointly holds the record for appearing in the most World Cups. He is the leading run-getter of the tournament with 2,278 runs. The record of scoring most runs in a single edition of the tournament also belongs to him. Sachin is known for his cricket acumen and has a knack for predicting upcoming events.

India will be playing its first match of the World Cup on 5th June against South Africa.
