Team India rout England during low-scoring run chase
Shafali Verma and Co. rout pre-tournament favourites England in the first-ever ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final on Sunday, January 29.
The U-19 Women in Blue side asserted their dominance in the biggest stage with panache while chasing a meagre 69 runs set by the Three Lions. Led by pace sensation Titas Sadhu and leg-spinner Parshavi Chopra, team India dished out a superlative performance to bundle out England for a paltry total.
In response to the low score, the Indian batting unit swiftly hit the ground running despite losing two early wickets with Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha taking the onus of steering the side to cement their place in history.
