ICC Cricket WC Trophy reaches Leh as part of world tour
The upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is all set to commence on October 5 in Ahmedabad. With the excitement for the tournament reaching its peak, the trophy for the coveted title has embarked upon a full-scale tour of the world. Travelling to 18 countries around the world, the tour includes countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, the USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, and India as well.
The most recent stop for the silverware was in Ladakh. Reaching the city of Leh in the Union Terriroty of Ladakh, the trophy was brightly seen shining near the Pangong Tso Lake and Shanti Stupa. Furthermore, the coveted cup was in West Bengal on Thursday, July 6, as part of its tour, where the students of Modern High School in Kolkata shared the stage and interacted with the title alongside former India cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
Through the world tour campaign, the ICC (International Cricket Council) is making great strides in its attempt to provide one million fans with a chance to get a glimpse of the silverware.
It is also worth noting that the trophy tour began in India on June 27 and will stay in the country until July 14, after which it will travel to other countries around the world. It will return to India after having completed its tour on September 4.
