India Women to play their maiden day-night Test in Australia, complete schedule announced
India Women look set to get busy in the near future. They are currently gearing up for an all-format tour to England where they will also be playing their first Test match in seven years apart from three ODIs and as many T20Is. Later in September, the team is scheduled to tour Australia as well to compensate for a postponed series in January this year due to COVID-19.
Interestingly, India and Australia will also be facing each other in Tests for the first time since 2006. The two teams will play one Test on the tour and now the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that it will be a day-night Test and will be played with pink ball.
Taking forward our commitment towards women’s cricket, I am extremely pleased to announce that Team India @BCCIwomen will play in their first-ever pink ball day-night Test later this year in Australia.

The ‘Women in Blue’ will start their Australian trip by playing a three-match ODI series, that will begin on 19th September 2021. The next 2 ODIs will be played on 22nd and 24th September respectively. The ODI series will be followed by a one-off Test match between India and Australia that will start on 30th September 2021. The WACA in Perth will play host to the Test match, and it will be a Day-Night affair.
After the Test match, India and Australia will lock horns in a three-match T20I series, with the first T20I slated to be played on 7th October 2021. The 2nd and 3rd T20Is will be played on 9th and 11th October respectively.
Indian players in quarantine in Mumbai
Meanwhile, the Indian players selected for England tour have started their quarantine in Mumbai. Both India Men and Women are scheduled to leave for the UK on June 2 for their respective all-format series. The BCCI arranged a charter flight for the players to help them reach Mumbai where they will be quarantined for 14 days and also be tested regularly for COVID-19.
India Women’s England tour is set to commence on June 16 with a four-day Test match followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is.
