IPL 2022: KKR vs PBKS Review – Umesh,Russell take down Punjab

Kolkata Knight Riders registered their second victory of the season with a win over the Punjab Kings in Match 8 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium. KKR got into trouble with loss of four wickets for just 51 runs on the board and looked in complete disarray in a lowly run chase. However, Sam Billings and Andre Russell took their franchise home with a 90-run partnership and ended the game in just 14.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Earlier in the day, Punjab Kings were asked to bat by Shreyas Iyer, and skipper Mayank Agarwal was dismissed early. However, Bhanuka Rajapaksa played a quickfire cameo of 31 off just 9 but once he was dismissed there was a flurry of wickets with no partnerships in the middle. Rabada’s 25 off just 16 balls towards the end took them to a decent score while Umesh Yadav continued his merry run with the ball, picking up a four-wicket haul.
