Sachin Tendulkar – Rohit Sharma, new opening pair for Mumbai Indians?

Sachin Tendulkar opening the innings for Mumbai Indians with captain Rohit Sharma in the current season will be a dream scenario for any Indian cricket fan. It was Rohit who ignited this discussion on social media in the midst of his questions and answers session.

When asked which one former MI player will he like to bring back, Rohit replied with two. The first name that he took was of South African legend Shaun Pollock and the other was of his senior Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar.

The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians enquired these legends about the possibility of their comeback. Tendulkar replied his readiness to open the innings with Rohit while Pollock was not so sure about his fitness levels.

Tendulkar represented Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2013, he was also their icon player. Mumbai franchise won their maiden IPL trophy in 2013. Sharma joined the Mumbai side in 2011 after leaving Deccan Chargers. He later led Mumbai Indians to four IPL victories with the latest being in 2019.
