Usman Khawaja reveals new kit for World Test Championship 2023 Final

After the conclusion of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, India and Australia will gear up for the all-important World Test Championship 2023 final as both teams will set their eyes on the Test mace. Both teams have named a strong squad, and it will be a contest to lookout for, when they clash.

Ahead of the tournament, Usman Khawaja shared pictures of himself wearing the new kit for WTC Final 2023. Expressing his excitement, Khawaja captioned the post:

“Not gonna lie. These vest are gangsta 🔥. World Test Championship. #straya🇦🇺🦘🪃 #loveavest #prizedpossession #wtc #gonnaneedit❄️”

The two teams recently squared off in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Pat Cummins-led side toured India for four Test matches, which was followed by three ODIs. India defeated Australia at home (2-1), which helped them qualify for the WTC final for the second consecutive time.

India made it to the summit clash in the 2021 edition too, but could not win the title. New Zealand defeated India to clinch the mace. Several senior Indian players have been sidelined due to injury concerns, which might play a role in India’s campaign. Players like Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant have missed out due to injuries. Indian selectors have tried to pick a squad from the best available options.

The Australian side looks strong, but their record in England has not been that good. Out of the 176 games played on the English soil, they have managed to win 54 games, while losing as many, with 68 games ending in a draw. Moreover, Australia decided not to play any warm-up games heading into the WTC Final, a move that might as well prove risky.

Nevertheless, players involved in the County Championship currently will back themselves to do well in the mega clash. India, on the other hand, will have the advantage of some in-form players. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, who notched up centuries during the BGT 2023, continued their form going into the IPL 2023 and are in great touch with the bat of late.
