3 Indian bowlers who debuted in a one-off tour and faded away

Every young aspiring cricketer dreams to represent his nation at the International level. In a country like India where the competition and craze for cricket is extremely high, it becomes more difficult to complete those dreams. There have been some players who have got the national call-up for a tour, but then never got a chance again. In this article, we will discuss three Indian bowlers who debuted in a one-off tour and have been sidelined.

Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma has been one of the most successful pacers in the history of the Indian Premier League. Despite that, he has got very few chances at the International level. Sandeep made his debut for the Indian team during the Zimbabwe tour in 2015. During this, he played 2 T20I matches in which he picked up only 1 wicket. He also proved to be quite expensive in both these games. These performances did not work in his favour and he never got picked for the Indian team again.

Parvinder Awana

Indian pacer Parvinder Awana made an international debut against England in 2012. This match was part of a two-match T20I series between the two teams. Awana went wicketless in both these games and went for plenty of runs as well. He never got selected in the Indian squad after this series. Awana played IPL for the Punjab franchise for three years.

Sreenath Aravind

Sreenath Aravind was another such Indian bowler who could play in only one series. He played in IPL for the RCB team as well. Aravind made his T20I debut against South Africa in 2015. He gave away 44 runs in his 4 overs and picked up 1 wicket. This remains his sole appearance in international cricket.
