3 Players who can make their ODI debut for India on Zimbabwe tour

Following the conclusion of the West Indies tour, Team India is scheduled to travel Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI series. The series gets underway on the 18th of August and will go on until the 22nd of August. Virat Kohli is expected to be named in the squad as he hasn’t yet found his form back and is struggling for runs. With the T20 World Cup coming up, the players will be looking to capitalise on the opportunities in Zimbabwe. Here are 3 players, who can make their ODI debut for India on Zimbabwe tour.

Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi did find a place in the Indian squad for the Ireland series but failed to make it to the playing XI. The right hander had an impressive IPL 2022 season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the number three position and can also open the innings if needed. With the big names likely to be rested for the tour, Tripathi might get his chance in the XI if he gets picked up for the Zimbabwe tour.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh made his international debut for India in the T20Is against England. However, he hasn’t featured in the playing XI since. The left arm-seamer has got some special skills in terms of death bowling and he brings variety into the bowling attack. With not much left-arm pacers around for India, the Zimbabwe series will be the right time for Arshdeep to be groomed.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan has played nine T20 internationals since his debut in the format this year but hasn’t made his debut yet in the ODI format. With Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj in the squad for the West Indies ODIs, Avesh is likely to be benched. However, he might get the nod for the Zimbabwe series due to his impressive performances in recent times.
