3 players who can replace KL Rahul for WTC final

After the end of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, several of the Indian and Australian players will be travelling to England as they gear up to take each other in the World Test Championship Final, which is scheduled to be played from June 7 at the Oval.

Team India received the worst of news recently as star Indian batter KL Rahul sustained an injury that would see him out of contention for the WTC final. The Indian team would be getting desperate to announce a replacement for the injured KL Rahul. With the 31-year-old out of contention, let us have a look at three players who can replace him in the WTC final squad.

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal could be a potential candidate to replace KL Rahul in India’s WTC final squad. Agarwal is currently representing Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL 2023. With 187 runs in nine games so far at the tournament, Agarwal has failed to make much of an impact. However, given his performance in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 – 990 runs in 13 innings – does make him a considerable option.

Sarfaraz Khan

With 556 runs in nine innings in the Ranji Trophy 2022–23, Sarfaraz Khan could be another one of the names that could replace Rahul in India’s squad. His incredible run in domestic cricket has made him one of the top contenders to break into the Indian team for quite some time now.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

One of the best performers at the 16th edition of the IPL 2023, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal could also be one of the names that could replace Rahul in the WTC final squad. His brilliant performances at the Ranji Trophy 2022–23 could have all eyes set on him as well. If he is given the chance to play for the national team, the 21-year-old would be keen on making the most of the opportunity.
