5 players with no sixes in T20I cricket

The 20-over format is mostly the game of fours and sixes. However, there have been several other batters who have done well by running well between the wickets and hitting odd boundaries in between. On that note, let us look at five players who have not hit a six in T20I cricket.

  1. Imam-ul-Haq (Pakistan)

Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has represented Pakistan in two T20 matches so far. The left-handed batter got his maiden T20 call up in May 2019 to play against home-side England. Imam only managed to score seven runs off 10 balls, without hitting a single boundary. He played his second T20I match against Australia in November 2019 and scored 14 runs. The left-handed batter hit two fours but was unable to clear the ropes. Since then, Imam has not represented Pakistan in the 20-over format.

  1. Alastair Cook (England)

Sir Alastair Cook was one of the legends to play cricket for England. The left-handed batter has amassed more than 12,000 runs in the Test format. However, when it comes to the 20-over format, Cook has not much to show in his records. Cook has represented England in four T20 matches in which he has scored 61 runs at an average of 15.25. The left-handed batter had stroked 10 fours in his short T20I career but never managed to clear the ropes for a maximum.

  1. Wavell Hinds (West Indies)

West Indies batting allrounder Wavell Hinds was one of the finest hitters of the ball and he got his call-up in the T20 squad in 2006. The 45-year old represented his country in five T20 matches in which he scored only 30 runs with a poor average of seven. The left-handed batter stroked three fours in his short T20 career, but never managed to clear the ropes.

  1. BJ Watling (New Zealand)

New Zealand’s BJ Watling

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter BJ Watling made his T20I debut for the Kiwis in November 2009 against Pakistan and played his last match against West Indies in July 2014. Watling played five T20 matches for his country in which he made only 38 runs at an average of 9.5. The 36-year old could not hit a six in his short T20I career and played at a strike rate of 65.52.

  1. Chris Cairns (New Zealand)

Chris Cairns is one of the legends to play the game of cricket for New Zealand. After representing his country in Tests and ODIs, Cairns made his T20I debut in February 2005 against Australia and retired from the 20-over format after his second match against West Indies in February. Cairns could only manage to score three runs in two T20I matches he played in his career.
