Aiden Markram wants MS Dhoni to play in SA20
Newly-appointed skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Aiden Markram has expressed that he would like to see former India captain MS Dhoni play South Africa’s SA20 league. Markram led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to a title in the inaugural season of the league after beating Pretoria Capitals.
The Proteas batter expressed that Dhoni has all the right ingredients to play in South Africa’s top-tier league. Adding to this, he also said that the experience Dhoni holds would benefit the local players.
“To be honest with you, someone like MS (Dhoni) would be great to have in your camp just for the guys to learn from him. He has all the knowledge and our local players in South Africa will benefit a lot from him. There are a lot of other players but he is the one that comes to mind,” Markram said in the virtual press conference.

Sunrisers Hyderabad took to their social media on February 23 to announce the appointment of Markram as the captain. The Proteas batter will replace Williamson after relishing a triumphant season with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 League.
“In terms of the responsibility, you do naturally enjoy it. You always want to win as sportsmen and when you happen to be the captain, that even exaggerates it more. Main priority is that you want the team to always do well and satisfy the fans. You want to give your all, if it works out, it works out, it doesn’t, it is part of the game,” added Markram.
Apart from guiding the side to winning the title, Markram was among the top run-getters. He scored 366 runs in 12 outings, including a century, and also claimed 11 scalps. Following the dismal run in IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be gunning to compete for the title in the forthcoming season under their new leader.
