BAN vs IND: Rohit Sharma, Navdeep Saini ruled out of 2nd Test

India have been dealt with yet another blow ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh. Their regular skipper Rohit Sharma has already been ruled out of the second Test. Pace bowler Navdeep Saini is also out of contention with an abdominal muscle strain. He was added to the squad after performing decently for India A on the Bangladesh tour.

Navdeep Saini last played a Test in Australia last year when the Indian team had suffered plenty of injuries. Interestingly, he hadn’t bowled after a certain period due to injury in that game as well. Saini will now report to NCA to recover from injury.

Meanwhile, BCCI, in their press release, has also confirmed Rohit Sharma’s unavailability for the second Test. According to the medical team, it will take more time for his finger injury to heal completely and will continue his rehab.

India likely to be unchanged for 2nd Test

As far as India’s playing XI is concerned, the team management is unlikely to disturb the winning combination after a stunning victory in the opening Test. Unless there are injury concerns, the team is likely to field the same playing XI. The likes of Jaydev Unadkat and Saurabh Kumar might have to wait for their opportunity.

India’s updated squad for 2nd Test against Bangladesh: KL Rahul (C), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara (VC), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Saurabh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat
