Best batting average in men’s T20Is

In the T20 format, a batter has a limited amount of time to settle in. Consistency in T20Is is the hardest thing since taking risks results in less stability. A batter may be chosen only on the basis of his strike rate, without consideration for his average. It’s difficult to maintain a high average in T20Is, but certain players have succeeded in doing so.

Let’s look at the three batters with the best batting average in men’s T20Is (minimum 50 innings)-

3. KL Rahul

India’s opening batter has had one of the finest averages in men’s T20Is. Having played 56 matches and batted in 52 innings, Rahul has scored 1831 runs at an average of 40.68. He also has two centuries and 12 half centuries to his name. Rahul has been out of the Indian setup for a while owing to his injury concerns but has been very consistent with the bat, regularly providing his side with a strong foundation.

2. Babar Azam

Another prolific batter who makes the list is Pakistani skipper Babar Azam. In 74 matches and 69 innings, Babar has managed to score 2686 runs at a brilliant average of 45.52. He had one century and 26 half-centuries to his name and he continues to dominate the white-ball format of the game. Currently the highest ranked batter in ODIs and T20Is, Babar Azam has been the most in-form batter in limited overs cricket.

1. Virat Kohli

Having played 99 matches and batted in 91 innings, Virat Kohli has 3308 runs to his name at an average of 50.12. Unfortunately, the former India captain has not managed to bag a century in the shortest format, and his highest score remains to be 94*. His form in the recent past has not been convincing, but nevertheless, he remains to be one of the finest cricketers to have played the sport.
