Similarly, Charlie Turner in 1887 took a six-wicket haul against England in the first innings to bundle out the side for mere 45 runs on his debut.

2. Tom Kendall, Todd Murphy – 7 wickets

Against England in 1877, Tom Kendall returned a seven-wicket haul on his debut that took the opponent by storm. In 2023, 22-year-old Todd Murphy replicated the feat as he got seven wickets to his name, which included big name players like Kohli, Pujara and KL Rahul among others of the Indian side.

1. Bob Massie, Jason Krejza – 8 wickets

On his debut in 2008 against India, Jason Krejza single-handedly sent eight players back to the dug-out and returned magnificent figures of 8/215 runs in his 43.5 overs in the first innings. Similarly, Bob Massie in 1972 against England had attained the same feat when he scalped an eight wicket-wicket haul in the first innings.
