Shivam Mavi made the headlines on his international debut during India’s first T20I match of 2023. 3) 4/22 vs Sri Lanka, January 2022 – Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi welcomed an international opportunity with open arms and made the best impact with four wickets against Sri Lanka in the first T20I of 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on January 3. He bowled out Pathum Nissanka to take his first wicket in international cricket and then took three more wickets to guide India to a narrow two-run win. He conceded only 22 runs from his four-over spell to bowl the third-best figure on his T20I debut for the Men in Blue.

2) 4/21 vs Bangladesh, June 2009 – Pragyan Ojha

The 36-year-old left-arm spinner made his T20I debut for India during the 2009 T20 World Cup group-stage clash against Bangladesh. While defending 180 runs, he took four wickets, including valuable wickets of Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah. He conceded only 21 runs and won the Player of the Match award. Ojha took ten wickets from just six T20Is but he struggled to cement his place in India’s T20I squad.

Baridner Sran took three wickets on his ODI debut against the strong Australian batting lineup and then made his T20I debut with another big impact. The 30-year-old left-arm pacer took four wickets on against Zimbabwe during India’s tour of Zimbabwe in June 2016. He conceded only 10 runs to bowl the best figure on his T20I debut for India. Similar to Ojha, Sran has played only two T20Is and six ODIs for India.
