‘Bharatnatyam style’ – Yuvraj Singh shares hilarious video of a bowler dancing before delivering

Over the years, a number of bowling actions have come to the fore that hogged quite a bit of limelight. Paul Adams used to rotate his entire body before delivering the ball. It was hard to believe that despite having a complicated action, he managed to churn out decent line and lengths. The left-arm spinner ended up playing quite a bit of cricket for the South African team.

Then came in Lasith Malinga, who’s still weaving magic for Sri Lanka at the highest level. In fact, Malinga is also the leading wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League despite missing the last edition. India’s Jasprit Bumrah also doesn’t have the most orthodox action, but Team India don’t complain as the speedster has picked up wickets in all three formats.

Time and again, a number of bowlers have raised eyebrows with their bowling action. Recently, Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian cricketer, posted a video where a bowler can be seen, dancing before delivering the ball. In the video, the bowler can be seen, spinning his body entirely as many as five times after which he sent down the delivery.

The batsman cut the ball through the point region. In the hilarious clip, Yuvraj also tagged Harbhajan Singh. He captioned the video and wrote, “Bharat natyam style off-spin!!!! What say @harbhajan3 ?, ”

Here’s the video

Yuvraj Singh’s bowling record

Yuvraj, himself, was more than an effective bowler. At the international level, he picked up as many as 148 wickets. 111 of those wickets came in the ODI format. Apart from his batting, it was also his bowling prowess that helped him get the Player of the Series award. He had an innocuous action and had a relaxed action before he sent the ball down.

Yuvraj retired from international cricket in 2019 after playing his last match for Team India in 2017. However, he has continued playing cricket around the world. In 2019, he played in the Global T20 Canada and weaved magic. Then was also a part of the Maratha Arabians in the T10 League at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. His international career spanned 17 years.
