Sri Lanka eye for a Super 12 spot

After winning the Asia Cup 2022 earlier this month, Sri Lanka started their campaign in the international tournament by playing Namibia in their campaign opener of the First-Round. While the Asian champions had been the top pick in their group, they lost their opening fixture against Namibia.

Hereon, the Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka needs to win the remaining two games against the Netherlands and UAE so as to keep their Super 12 hopes alive. Sri Lanka will play the UAE on 18th October which will be followed by their final final group fixture against the Netherlands on October 20.

Sri Lanka is grouped in Round one with Namibia, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates. In single round-robin matches, each team will play the other three teams once and the two teams to top their group in the points table will advance to the Super 12.
