Mustafizur Rahman

Since making his debut in 2015, Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman has remained a crucial player for his team and has given many match-winning performances for his country. On the occasion of his 28th birthday, here is a look at his top three performances in international cricket.

3) 4/37 vs South Africa

Mustafizur had a dream debut in the Test format as the left-arm pacer took four crucial wickets for his side and completely demolished the Proteas side. He took the wickets of Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Quinton de Kock, and Temba Bavuma as he finished his spell with four wickets and gave away just 37 runs in his spell. To note, South Africa was bowled out for 248 – their second-lowest against Bangladesh.

2) 6/43 vs India

Team India was blown away by a young Mustafizur Rahman who was playing only his second ODI match. The left-arm pacer took 6 wickets and spent only 43 runs in his bowling quota. As a result, India was bowled out for 200 in the rain-shortened game. He took the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and skipper MS Dhoni as his side won the match comfortably in the end by six wickets with 12 overs left in the game.

1)  5/22 vs New Zealand

Mustafizur recorded his best T20I figures against New Zealand in a group stage match of the 2016 T20 World Cup. The left-arm pacer from Bangladesh took wickets of Henry Nicholls, skipper Kane Williamson, Grant Elliott, Mitchell Santner, and Nathan McCullum and gave away just 22 runs in his four-over quota. Despite his excellent bowling performance, Bangladesh could not win the match and had to go home after playing the group stage matches.
