Captains with 100 in all formats

Scoring a century in any format of the sport is undoubtedly a remarkable feat to achieve during a professional career. Adding to this, to be able to lead the side and guide the team from the front with a game-changing knock is another massive feat to attain. Only a handful of skippers have found success in both milestones by being a skipper and amassing a ton across all of the formats. Thus far, only four cricketers have been able to achieve this feat by leading the side. In this piece, we take a look at the four men’s captains with centuries across all three formats-

4. Babar Azam

Babar Azam is arguably one of the best players in world cricket and has been an integral part of the national side. Since his debut in 2015, Babar scored nine centuries in Tests, 17 in ODIs and two in T20Is as the skipper of the national side.

3. Tillakaratne Dilshan

Tillakaratne Dilshan was one of the most important players for Sri Lanka during his cricketing career. The former Islander was one of the skippers to score a century in all three formats. Dilshan scored 16 centuries in Tests, 22 in ODIs and a solitary in T20Is.

2. Faf du Plessis

The South African cricketer has been one of the most reliable batters to score vital runs for his side. Moreover, he has also been terrific as a skipper of the national side and produced some sensational innings in his career. The former Proteas captain scored 10 centuries in Tests, 12 in ODIs and one in T20Is.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit joined the elite list after scoring a sensational knock against Australia in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series. With his ton, Rohit became the first Indian skipper to slam centuries across all the formats. Prior to his ton, he had hit three ODI centuries and two T20I tons as a skipper.
