Dinesh Karthik, the veteran Indian cricketer, heaped praises on Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for his kindness and generosity. The 36-year-old Karthik is associated with Khan since 2018 after joining the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Shah Rukh is the owner of the Men in Gold and Purple since the inaugural edition way back in 2008. Lauding Khan, Karthik talked about an incident when the former commuted from Chennai to Dubai for the wicketkeeper-batter.

Karthik put forth his opinions while speaking to Gaurav Kapur on his ’22 Yarns with Gaurav Kapur’ podcast uploaded on Spotify.

He has a massive fan following in Trinidad: Dinesh Karthik

There are not many large-hearted people like him in the world right now. And the world needs more people like him. Very genuine, he looks out for you. Whatever happened in my personal life, he flew people over from Chennai to Dubai on a private jet at his own expense for me,” Karthik said.

I don’t know how many franchises would do something like that. But that for me was unbelievable, unreal. I didn’t expect it. I had never sat on a private jet in my life. But just the fact that he was able to do that for me and he just completely won my heart over. I could do anything for him; he’s a terrific human being,” he stated.

Karthik also had street food with King Khan in Trinidad. Speaking on the same, Karthik stated, “I had a Vada pav in the streets of Trinidad. He has a massive fan following in Trinidad. Even there, he had to wear a cap.

Shah Rukh’s fandom in Trinidad is mostly because he owns the Trinbago Knight Riders’ franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). TKR, led by Kieron Pollard, won the CPL in three out of the last four seasons. Last year, they won the title after staying unbeaten throughout the tournament.

They have retained Pollard as their skipper and the upcoming edition in St Kitts and Nevis is set to begin on August 26 with the final to take place on September 15. The KKR, in the meantime, will take part in the second leg of IPL 2021 in the UAE in September-October.
