Apart from that, he has played a few furious knocks such as 85 (88 balls, Bridgetown) and 79 not out (76 balls, Birmingham).

Shai Hope – 508 runs

Hope had a mediocre beginning against England as he totalled only 33 runs in the first four innings. However, it all changed in the Headingley Test of 2017. Hope scored 147 in first innings and followed it up with 118 not out in the winning chase. He has scored two half-centuries since then and averages 42.33 in seven Tests against England.

Ben Stokes – 590 runs

The English all-rounder has been showing his prowess with the bat against West Indies. In 9 Test matches, he has scored 590 runs with one century and four half-centuries. Stokes scored his only century in the Leeds Test in 2017 as he rescued the side from a difficult situation. In 15 innings Stokes has only one single-digit score against West Indies.

Kraigg Brathwaite – 607 runs

One of the established Test cricketers of West Indies, the opener has been solid against England. In nine Test appearances, he has added 607 runs with two centuries and one half-century. His maiden hundred versus England was in Grenada in 2015 while his second century was in the Leeds Test of 2017.

Joe Root – 803 runs

England’s best Test batsman in the current setup, Root began in a prolific manner against West Indies. His first three scores against them read – 85, 59 and 182 not out. He again recorded a sequence of 136, 59 and 72 in the home series of 2017. He added another century last year in Gros Islet which helped England win the Test match. In just nine Tests, he has accumulated 803 runs while averaging 57.35 with the bat.
