Injuries continue to trouble England pacer Jofra Archer as he has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to a stress fracture to his lower back. He has been away from competitive cricket since July 2021 when he played in the T20 Blast for Sussex. However, after missing the action for more than nine months, Archer was slated to make a comeback in the upcoming T20 Blast season later this month. However, the latest injury has once again ruled him out of action.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the development in its press release while also stating that there is no timeframe set for the fast bowler’s comeback as of now. The board will also take an opinion of a specialist in this case.

“After being diagnosed with a stress fracture to the lower back, England and Sussex seamer Jofra Archer has been ruled out for the rest of the season. No timeframe has been set for his return. A management plan will be determined following further specialist opinion over the coming days,” ECB’s statement read.
