3. Vinod Kambli (IND), Neil Harvey (AUS) | 14 innings

The former India cricketer Vinod Kambli is among the players to have attained the feat the quickest as he got to 1000 runs in just 17 innings. Kambli got his 1000 runs in a Test match against West Indies in 1994. He featured in 17 Tests and collected 1084 runs, lacing it with four tons and three fifties.

Likewise, Neil Harvey too scored 1000 Test runs in 17 innings, bringing up the feat against England in 1950. Featuring in 79 Tests, Harvey accumulated 6149 runs with 24 fifties and 21 centuries at an average of 48.41.

England’s Herbert Sutcliffe and West Indies legend Everton Weekes scored 1000 Test runs in just 12 innings. While Sutcliffe got to the milestone against Australia in 1925, Everton reached there against India in 1949. Herbert Sutcliffe scored 4555 runs in 54 Test appearances, whereas the Windies great Weekes scored 4455 in 48 matches.
