Fastest to 1000 runs in Women’s T20Is

In the shortest format of the game, batting is nothing less than an art, and mastering it consistently and quickly is the cherry on the cake. In the women’s game, there are many who have surpassed 1000 career runs in the 20-over game, but only a few make it to the list of players who took the least amount of time to do it. Let’s have a look:

37 – Sarah Taylor

Former English player and the team’s wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Taylor was the second player who reached 1000 T20I runs. She achieved the feat on 13 September 2012 while playing against West Indies in Northampton. While announcing her retirement, Taylor ended with 2177 T20I runs, including 16 half-centuries. Taylor played her last T20I against West Indies at the same venue in 2019.

35 – Charlotte Edwards

Former England cricketer and one of the finest players to have represented the team, Charlotte Edwards was the first-ever female cricketer to cross the 1000-run mark in the history of Women’s T20Is. The now 42-year-old achieved the feat back in June 2011, at the age of 31. Back then, she created a record, and only one player managed to score 1000 T20I runs faster than her.

31 – Esha Rohit Oza

The 23-year-old cricketer, who represents the United Arab Emirates in international cricket, is one of the five players who made it to the list this year. Esha Oza achieved the feat in June 2022 and scripted history as she became the fastest player to bag 1000 T20I runs, doing it in only 31 innings. Oza surpassed legendary cricketers like Charlotte Edwards, Sarah Taylor, Stafanie Taylor, Meg Lanning, Beth Mooney, Mithali Raj, and many more to get on top of the list.
