Harmanpreet Kaur shares her emotions after meeting PM Modi

Indian Women’s team came agonizingly close in their quest to clinch the gold medal at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games as they had to contend with a silver medal following a narrow loss to World Champions Australia. However, the team was lauded for their exceptional performance in the tournament. To recognise their brilliant show, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who expressed her delight over the same.

The Indian team had a memorable tournament in the 2022 CWG games held in Birmingham and were just inches away from the gold medal against tournament favourites Australia in the final. The Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played a heroic knock of 65 runs, which eventually went in vain.

Harmanpreet reckoned that meeting the PM and listening to his encouraging words felt like the entire nation was behind them. His kind words meant that the people recognized their efforts and appreciated their hard work.

“It’s quite important to receive motivation from the country’s PM. When PM Modi speaks with us, it feels like the entire country is supporting us and that everybody is appreciating our hard work. It’s a big achievement for our cricket team,” Harmanpreet was quoted as saying by India Today.

He also wished them all the best for their future endeavours in a post via his official Twitter handle.
