Kohli is the only cricketer to win the player of the tournament award on two occasions, in 2014 and 2016. Rohit Sharma (847 runs)
The current Indian captain has been part of every edition of the T20 World Cup tournament and has scored 847 runs in 33 innings at an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 131.52 with the help of eight fifties. Rohit’s best World Cup outings came during the 2014 edition, where he scored 200 runs to guide India to the final of the tournament.
Tillakaratne Dilshan (897 runs)
The third-highest run-getter in T20 World Cup is legend Tillakaratne Dilshan. He scored 897 runs in 35 innings in the mega tournament at an average of 30.93 and a strike rate of 124.06 with the help of six fifties. Dilshan won the player of the tournament during the 2009 edition for scoring the highest 317 runs.

Mahela Jayawardene (1016 runs)
The legendary Sri Lankan batter leads the scoring charts in the T20 World Cup with 1016 runs in 31 innings at an average of 39.07 and a strike rate of 134.74. He featured in all World Cup matches for Sri Lanka from 2007 to 2014 and is the only player to cross the 1000-run mark so far. Jayawardene smashed one century and six fifties with the help of record 111 fours in the T20 World Cup.
