I am making specific plans for MI, there are 2-3 challenging batters: PBKS spinner Rahul Chahar

Mumbai Indians will be locking horns with the Punjab Kings in Match 23 of IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 13. MI and PBKS head into this contest having lost their respective previous encounters to the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans respectively.

Meanwhile, one of the players would be eager to prove a point against his former franchise on the field. The player in the discussion is leggie Rahul Chahar. The promising leg-spinner, who was once an integral member of the MI squad, is now a part of PBKS camp and he has some specific plans for MI batters.

I will definitely try to give my hundred percent as always: Rahul Chahar

“I will definitely try to give my hundred percent as always. Mainly, there are two or three batters who are challenging to bowl against that I have my eye on. Suryakumar Yadav, for instance, is in great form. Rohit, too, is a top batter,” Chahar said as quoted by PBKS on their official website.

“I am preparing well for them and looking forward to bowling to them,” a thrilled Chahar said. “I am also making specific plans for all of these guys, let’s see how it goes,” he added.

At the same time, the younger of the Chahar cousins also made it clear that there would be no friendships on the cricket field, and for him, the MI players, who were once his teammates, would be competitors once the game begins.

“From childhood, I have played against my brother. It doesn’t matter if he is in front of me or anybody else. My job is to make my team win, and I will do whatever it takes to get that result,” Rahul Chahar said.

Rahul Chahar was one of the key performers for the Mumbai Indians for a few years and was also a member of their back-to-back triumphs in the 2019 and 2020 editions respectively. However, he was not retained by them months before the IPL 2022 mega auction. PBKS subsequently secured his services for INR 5.25 crore.
