IND vs AUS: 5 Players to watch out for

Australia will tour India for three T20Is between September 20 and 25, and this will be the first T20I bilateral series between the two sides since December 2020. They have met 23 times in the format, and the Men in Blue have a superior record of 13-9 over the Kangaroos.

India come into the series on the back of a disappointing performance in the Asia Cup 2022, with a shock exit in Super 4. Australia, on the other hand, last played a T20I in the three-match series against Sri Lanka in June, which they won 2-1. Both teams will be raring to win the games and gather some momentum, going into the T20 World Cup, which will begin on October 16.

Here are five players to watch out for in India vs Australia T20I Series:

Hardik Pandya

One of the most valuable players in the Indian team and one of the best all-rounders in the world in the white-ball circuit, Hardik Pandya has been firing on all cylinders in recent times. As he has done for months now, his contribution at the backend of the innings with the firepower that he possesses can make a difference to the team. He has also been in great form with the ball, taking important wickets, and provides the option of the third seamer whenever needed.

Cameron Green

Cameron Green is one of the emerging talents of Australia and has already shown his prowess in all departments in both red ball and white ball cricket. He has played only one T20I, which was against Pakistan in Lahore on April 5, where bowled a spell of two wickets for 16 runs in three overs. He showed in recent ODIs that he has got the tools to succeed in the T20I circuit.

Suryakumar Yadav

An entertaining batter and one of the best players in the country, Suryakumar Yadav is touted for big things. He is known for his innovative shots, calmness under pressure and the cricketing intelligence that is required of an elite player. At the moment, he could be among the players to watch out for in any competition that he features in, given his form.

Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood is arguably the best white ball bowler at the moment, being second in ODIs and first in T20I in the ICC Bowling Rankings. He has an impressive record of taking 46 wickets in 30 T20Is with an economy rate of 7.22. In 2022, he has 14 wickets in six matches with an economy rate of just over 5. A lot for Australia will depend on him in the series against India.

Virat Kohli

The Indian superstar and one of the best players of the modern era, as it seems, has found his mojo again. Although India had a disappointing campaign at the Asia Cup 2022, his performance in the tournament was the silver lining for the Indians. He scored two fifties and a hundred in five innings and finished as the second-highest scorer of the Asia Cup. Another top outing from Kohli could be on cards.
