IND vs AUS: Virat Kohli tops the list of most international tons among active players

Virat Kohli continues to dominate in international cricket and with a century against Australia in the fourth Test. The 34-year-old extended his streak to continue as the batter with the most number of centuries among active players. Kohli notched up his 75th ton and stands second with the most number of international centuries.

SRT tops the overall list with 100 centuries, Kohli tops the list of active players with 75 tons. Joe Root and David Warner are tied in the second spot with 45 international hundreds apiece. Kohli also equaled Brain Lara’s record of scoring 24 centuries while batting at No. 4 in Tests.

Kohli and Gavaskar have eight centuries to their name against Australia in Tests. The Master Blaster tops the list with 11 tons. With his 28th Test ton, Kohli surpassed Mohammad Azharuddin, Virender Sehwag, and Dilip Vengsarkar to become the fourth-highest player in the list of most Test centuries for India at home. Rahul Dravid, Gavaskar, and Tendulkar take up the third, second, and first spots respectively.

Among active cricketers, Kohli now shares the top spot with Steve Smith in the list of players active players with the most centuries in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The two cricketing greats have notched up eight centuries in the history of BGT. Tendulkar tops the list with nine Test tons in BGT overall. Kohli and Smith share the second spot alongside Ricky Pointing.
