Adding to this, star of the night Shubman Gill scored his maiden century which steered the side post a mammoth 200-plus total in their 20 overs of the contest. With his blistering knock, the flamboyant batter engraved his name history for various reasons. In this piece, we take a look at the top three cricketers of the Indian side with the highest individual scores in the shortest format-

3. Rohit Sharma – 118 runs

Regular skipper Rohit Sharma slammed the highest score by an Indian when the side locked horns with neighbours Sri Lanka in Indore. In 2017, Rohit carved out a sublime knock of 118 runs from 43 deliveries, which included 12 boundaries and 10 maximums.

2. Virat Kohli – 122 runs

1. Shubman Gill – 126 runs

Shubman Gill seemed like a man possessed after he ripped through the Blackcaps bowling unit in the series decider. After getting to 70 runs, the opener accelerated and smashed maximums on numerous occasions. With his blistering ton, the batter surpassed Kohli’s record for registering the highest individual score in the T20Is.
