IPL 2020: Full list of award winners and prize money

IPL

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was one of its kind. There were no spectators as the tournament was held in a bio-bubble in the UAE amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an attempt to bring some joy into the fans’ lives, to bring back the smiles to people’s faces in a tough year and the IPL did just that.

Over the course of 60 matches, IPL 2020 came as a much-needed break for all cricket fans in India and across the world. The players provided some exceptional entertainment and with it, they showed their immense skills. As it turned out, Mumbai Indians’ level of cricket was a notch higher than all the other teams and they won the title for the fifth time in eight seasons.

They defeated the Delhi Capitals comfortably in the final thanks to a brilliant opening spell from Trent Boult who plucked crucial wickets and their skipper Rohit Sharma who slammed a half-century in a tricky chase.

KL Rahul won the Orange Cap

Like every year, there were a plethora of tournament awards given to honour the talent of the players. Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul won the Orange Cap for scoring a mammoth 670 runs in the edition.
