IPL 2020: KKR pacer Ali Khan ruled out of the season due to injury

The Indian Premier League 2020 continues to tackle with injuries. The latest addition in the list is that of the Kolkata Knight Riders pace bowler Ali Khan. Incidentally, the fast bowler was roped in as a replacement for left-arm pacer Harry Gurney. The 29-year-old Pakistan-born Ali Khan is the first USA cricketer to be a part of the IPL.

While the exact nature of his injury is yet to be known, it is confirmed that Khan will not be playing any part in the IPL 2020. So far, KKR have played four matches in the tournament and have emerged victorious in two of them. Ali Khan along with another overseas fast bowler Lockie Ferguson was yet to feature in the playing XI.

IPL issued a statement on the development, “Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders signed up Ali Khan as a replacement for injured Harry Gurney. Khan became the first USA cricketer to be signed up by an IPL franchise. Unfortunately, Khan has since been injured and will miss the rest of the Dream11 IPL 2020 season.” 

Kolkata Knight Riders will be next seen in action today on Wednesday, 7th October, against Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.
