IPL 2020: KXIP vs RCB Preview – Kohli’s men seek consistency

AB de Villiers

Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore and KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab will take on each other at the Dubai International Stadium in the sixth match of IPL 2020. RCB would be keen on keeping up with their winning start, while Punjab would be looking to get back on track after a super-over loss against underdogs Delhi Capitals.

RCB seemed to have covered most of their bases in their first match. Debutant Devdutt Padikkal played a special knock for them. KXIP lost their first match in the UAE in special circumstances after winning five consecutive games last time the IPL was held there. They will be ruing the missed winning opportunity against the Delhi team.

Match Info:

Match 6- KXIP vs RCB

Venue- Dubai International Stadium, Dubai

Time – 7:30 PM IST

Head To Head:

Stat Attack:

As seen in the Head to Head, both the teams are locked at 12 victories each in their 24 confrontations.

Umesh Yadav (RCB) has taken 29 wickets against KXIP, most by any bowlers against the team.

Mohammed Shami has dismissed Virat Kohli thrice in the IPL while conceding 40 runs off 27 balls.

Team News:

Kings XI Punjab:

The previous game for KXIP was marred with controversy. The umpire gave a short-run for a run that was actually legal. This sparked a lot of debate on social media, with the team owner Preity Zinta disappointed with the umpiring standards. That one run proved to be costly for them in the end. However, they would be looking to start afresh before the next game. No changes are expected in their XI.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Bangalore would not be looking to tinker around much with their current XI. They have finally started the league on a winning note. One probable change they could make is to drop Umesh Yadav and bring in Gurkeerat Singh and drop Josh Phillipe to bring in Chris Morris. However, that would mean AB would have to don the gloves, which isn’t exactly going to help his back.
