IPL 2021: CSK vs SRH Preview – Second-ranked Chennai face lacklustre Hyderabad

Chennai Super Kings will look to continue their winning streak in IPL 2021 when they meet an under-confident Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first match of the Delhi leg on April 28. Chennai started their campaign with a loss against Delhi Capitals but went on to win their next four games, the last of which came against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, have won only one match against Punjab Kings. They have lost the other four matches which they have played in this competition. The match should be interesting, considering the battles between the two teams in the past. Chennai will start favourites having won 10 matches against Sunrisers, while the latter have only won four matches so far.

Stat Attack:

David Warner is one half-century away from completing 50 fifties in IPL.

David Warner is 40 runs away from completing 10,000 runs across T20s.

Manish Pandey if included, will be playing his 150th match in the IPL.

Team News:

Chennai Super Kings: In the previous match in Mumbai, CSK decided to bring in Imran Tahir, with Moeen Ali out of action due to a slight injury. If the English player returns, he should slot in place of the South African leggie. Lungi Ngidi was tried in one of the matches in Mumbai but replaced once again by Dwayne Bravo in the subsequent match. Ngidi still remains in contention for a spot in the team. The rest of the XI should be unchanged with several all-rounders in the team to maintain the balance of the team.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: The David Warner-led side is in complete jeopardy having lost four of their five games, the last of which they lost in a super over. Having said that, Warner is likely to stick to his four overseas picks in the previous match. Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan and Warner himself will play in this match. Virat Singh had a disappointing outing in that match, which could possibly bring in Manish Pandey, who was dropped by the ‘selectors’ as mentioned by Warner in the post-match interview. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who missed the previous match, might come back, which will force SRH to drop J Suchith.
