IPL 2021: RCB name Prathmesh Mishra as new chairman ahead of the resumption

RCB

Prathamesh Mishra has been assigned as the new Chairman of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team ahead of the second phase of IPL 2021. He takes over this mantle of chairmanship from Anand Kripalu, who ceased his tenure as Managing Director & CEO of Diageo India on June 30, 2021. Prathamesh, who currently holds the post of the Chief Commercial Officer of Diageo India, will sign up for this additional duty from July 1, 2021.

Prathamesh became a part of Diageo India in 2014 as the Chief Operations Officer responsible for the Western region. With over two decades of experience in this field, he has worked across sales, marketing, key accounts and customer marketing with Inertia Industries, Mohan Meakins and Pernod Ricard.

Opening up on his add-on responsibility and association with RCB, he said that he is all raring to work alongside Virat Kohli and the entire team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is an integral part of Diageo India, and all of us share a profound passion for the team. I am excited about adding my shoulder to Virat Kohli, Mike Hesson and Simon Katich and playing bold in everything we do, on and off, the field. I would also like to thank Anand for his tremendous contribution to RCB.

RCB’s impressive IPL 2021

With the inclusion of Glenn Maxwell, the middle-order batting woes of RCB seemed to have found a convincible answer. In 7 matches the all-rounder has mustered 223 runs at a healthy average of 37.16. He fashioned victory in a few important games for RCB with his belligerent display with the willow. On the other hand, AB de Villiers has always been an important asset for the side, shaping his game to the situation.

The addition of Harshal Patel has further strengthened the squad as he has delivered some match-winning spells for the team. He currently tops the chart of the highest wickets takers in the IPL 2021 so far with 17 wickets under his belt. Unlike every year, RCB has looked good since the start of the season and would be keen to continue the winning momentum in the second phase as well.
