IPL 2021: RCB vs DC Preview – Bangalore, Delhi seek winning momentum ahead of playoffs

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are all set to play against each other in their respective last league game of the IPL 2021 season. Bangalore have won eight of their 13 matches so far. For now, it seems that Bangalore will have to be satisfied as to the third-placed team in the tournament but, they will try and push their chances of getting inside the top two.

Delhi, on the other hand, are coming into the game after a win against Chennai Super Kings, which should be a massive confidence booster for them. They have won ten matches and it is confirmed that they will finish in the top two, which looks like a massive achievement, considering the few years in the 2010s when the franchise didn’t really have a good time. Nevertheless, there is still lots to play for and we might witness an absolutely cracking game.

IPL 2021 Match 56 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals

Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

Time: 7:30 PM IST

Team News:

Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB have continued to back Dan Christian despite his failures with the bat and then also used him at various positions with no success whatsoever. He did get a couple of wickets in the previous game, so he might still retain his spot in the XI but you can expect a bit of change in the batting order. Glenn Maxwell, George Garton and AB de Villiers will surely make it to the XI unless there is any niggle and the team wants to give them rest ahead of the playoffs. The Indian contingent looks solid as well and RCB might simply retain their same XI.

Delhi Capitals: Delhi has made a few changes to a couple of places in their side for the last few matches. Since Marcus Stoinis’ injury, they have really struggled to balance their side well. They tried Steve Smith, Ripal Patel and Lalit Yadav in the few matches but have not managed to reap the rewards from them. Skipper Rishabh Pant had mentioned that Stoinis might return soon but with a playoff around the corner, it will be interesting to see Delhi take a chance of bringing him in now or wait for him to get fit and directly take part in the playoffs. Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Shimron Hetmyer will be the other three overseas players.
