IPL 2021: RR vs MI – Rajasthan, Mumbai collide in a battle of survival

The Indian Premier League 2021 is just hotting up at the right time. Rajasthan Royals are all set to take on Mumbai Indians in match 51 in Sharjah. Considering how the pitches have played at the venue, we might see another low-scoring total, but it is something that Mumbai won’t like. They have a run rate deficit to cover and find themselves in a bit of trouble.

Both the teams have won five out of their 12 matches. The only difference is Mumbai is coming into this game after a loss against Delhi, while Rajasthan defeated Chennai over the weekend, making sure they were still alive in the title race. Whoever wins this contest, will significantly have a better chance to qualify and we might witness a cracking contest with both teams being on their toes at this moment.

IPL 2021 Match 51 – Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians

Venue: Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah

Time: 7:30 PM IST

Team News:

Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson made a host of changes going into the last game and some of them did actually work. They got rid of Liam Livingstone and Chris Morris and got in Glenn Phillips and David Miller. Together they can form a solid middle-order combination but were not tested given the exploits of Shivam Dube. All the three should remain on the side. Mayank Markande also came along with Akash Singh. All these changes may be retained because of the win which they got in the previous match. The benched players have been dropped after some missed opportunities and should remain benched as the Royals will continue with their gamble.

Mumbai Indians: Mumbai brought in Nathan Coulter-Nile mid-season and have stuck by him for two games now. He is an excellent choice for the UAE pitches and he should continue as the fourth overseas pick. Kieron Pollard, Quinton de Kock and Trent Boult remain the top picks for the three other spots. Jayant Yadav came in for his customary game against Delhi Capitals, but may well retain his spot. There are two left-handers in the Royals top order, with a couple in the middle, which may help Yadav retain his spot in the XI. Rahul Chahar, who was left out in the last game, hasn’t had good performances in his recent appearances. The rest of the XI is expected to be unchanged unless there is any niggle or something.
