IPL 2021: SRH vs CSK Preview – Bottom-placed Hyderabad take on table toppers Chennai

Chennai Super Kings are all set to play Sunrisers Hyderabad in the South Indian derby in the IPL 2021. The two teams are coming against each other in absolute contrasting situations in this tournament. While CSK has won eight matches in ten which they have played, SRH have lost eight matches. CSK is leading the points table and have qualified for the playoffs while SRH is at the last position of the points table and have quite a slim chance to make it to the playoffs.

Yet this could be a good game of cricket considering how closely fought the contest was when these two teams met the last time, just before the tournament was postponed. Chennai had won the match that time and will start off as favourites. But, unlike that game in Delhi, this could be a fairly low-scoring match, considering how the matches have been in Sharjah in the last few days.

IPL 2021 Match 44 – Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings

Venue: Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah

Time: 7:30 PM IST

Team News:

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Sunrisers finally got a win after losing five straight matches. Going into that game, they decided to drop David Warner and get Jason Roy in his place. While the change at the top worked, it has been speculated that the Aussie southpaw might have already played his final game for Hyderabad. Having said that, players like Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav were also dropped in favour of Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg. With whatever that has been said in the press by Sunrisers’ management, it suggests that an unchanged XI is expected.

Chennai Super Kings: Dwayne Bravo was rested for the previous match which meant Sam Curran got his chance to play in the second leg finally. Despite not having a great day with the ball, MS Dhoni might just back the youngster to deliver once again in the next game. There is a chance that he retains his spot, even if Bravo comes in. That could potentially mean that Jos Hazlewood, who so far, has not done all that badly might have to be benched. The rest of the side doesn’t really require a makeover. But, as CSK have already made it to the playoffs, they might think of bringing some of the benched players like Imran Tahir, K Gowtham, Robin Uthappa and Karn Sharma.
