IPL 2022: DC vs SRH Preview – Inconsistent Delhi up against Williamson’s men

The Delhi Capitals will be locking horns with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 50 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 5. Both teams will be heading into this clash having lost their respective encounters. While Delhi went down to the Lucknow Super Giants by six runs, Hyderabad suffered a 13-run loss at the hands of the defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

DC’s performance has been inconsistent so far as they have managed just four wins from nine matches as the bowling and batting have not managed to click as a unit. The Rishabh Pant-led side would be desperate to tick all the boxes heading into the business end of the league stage. However, the one thing in their bowling attack that will give them relief is the consistent performances from wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman.

SRH. on the other hand, staged a remarkable comeback after losing their opening two fixtures and then went on to register five consecutive wins. Just when they looked to be invincible, they suffered back-to-back losses, against the table-toppers Gujarat Titans and CSK.

The bowlers were really off-colour against CSK in the last game while the batters too could not make much of an impact. In fact, had it not been for a quickfire unbeaten 64 from the Caribbean wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran, the margin of defeat could have been much more humiliating.

Predicted XI for Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Delhi Capitals

Despite a close defeat, the Delhi Capitals will not be too keen on making changes to their side. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see whether the team management would prefer dropping an under-fire Lalit Yadav.

Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Lalit Yadav, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad might have had a day to forget against the title-holders CSK but even they would be looking to give the same XI one more chance to prove themselves. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the Orange Army’s star-studded pace attack as they look to bounce back strongly after being hammered at the same venue.

Kane Williamson (c), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
