IPL 2022: LSG vs RR Preview – Lucknow face fierce Rajasthan

The Lucknow Super Giants will be locking horns with the Rajasthan Royals in Match 63 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 15. Both teams would be heading into this contest having tasted defeats in their previous encounters. While Lucknow suffered a 62-run loss against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan went down to northern rivals Delhi Capitals by eight wickets. Meanwhile, the Royals would be hoping to do the double over the new entrants, having got the better of them by three runs in the reverse fixture.

The Rajasthan Royals, who were one of the consistent sides this year, suddenly lost momentum after the first half and now need to win both of their remaining fixtures. While their top-order misfired against DC, impactful knocks from Ravichandran Ashwin (50) and Devdutt Padikkal (48) helped them post a fighting 160/6. However, their bowlers, including in-form Yuzvendra Chahal, had an off day as they went down.

The Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, looked unstoppable after their defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore last month following which they were indeed on a roll. Even in the last game against Gujarat, their bowlers bowled in the perfect areas and eventually succeeded in restricting them their opponents to 144/4. However, all the efforts were wasted as the batters failed to apply themselves as Gujarat bowlers wreaked havoc and bundled Lucknow out for just 82 in the 14th over.
