IPL 2022: PBKS vs RR Review – Jaiswal powers Rajasthan to a breezy victory

Rajasthan Royals were back to winning ways as they managed to get past the Punjab Kings in Match 52 of IPL 2022. Chasing a big score, Royals openers Jos Buttler and Jaiswal were off to a flying start while Samson joined the party once Buttler was dismissed. Jaiswal reached an excellent half-century, however, once the set batters were gone, it was up to Hetmyer and Parag to finish off the innings. The Caribbean lad yet again won the game for his side with a 16-ball 31*.

Earlier, Punjab Kings opted to bat first after winning the toss and the move worked out perfectly as the pair of Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan were destructive straightaway. Bairstow in particular was aggressive and he went on to make a half-century while Bhanuka Rajapaksa continued his impressive form. A brutal finish from the likes of Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone saw the PBKS ending up 189 in their 20 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal came into the line-up and immediately made an impact with a magnificent innings. a 41-ball 68 that included nine fours and two sixes. His knock helped his side to a great start in a big run-chase. He is likely to seal his position at the top for the remaining games as well.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal yet again came up with a sensational performance for the Rajasthan Royals with the ball when the other bowlers leaked plenty of runs. The leg-spinner picked up 3 for 28 in his four-over spell and played an important part in restricting the Punjab side from going above 200.

What next for the two teams

Rajasthan Royals will be up against the Delhi Capitals on 11th of May at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai while the Punjab Kings will next take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 13th of May at the Brabourne Stadium.
